HOUSTON, TX—August 13, 2018

Texas Dept. of Transportation (TxDOT), Blueridge Transportation Group, and Almeda-Genoa Constructors are pleased to announce a milestone has been reached: the opening of the newly-constructed direct connectors on the SH 288 Managed Lanes Project. On Monday, August 13th, the direct connectors taking drivers from IH 610 Eastbound to SH 288 Northbound, as well as IH 610 Westbound to SH 288 Southbound will be in use.

The opening of these new Connectors necessitates the demolition of the previously-driven Connector Ramps. As a result, on August 17, 2018, Almeda-Genoa Constructors will implement a series of total lane closures to support multifaceted construction efforts of Drive288, the SH 288 managed lanes construction project. Occurring on various weekends over the summer months, the total closures are needed to provide contractors with safe and adequate space and time to complete scheduled work, while simultaneously minimizing traffic flow impacts during the work week for the commuting public.
