Major Construction, SH 288 at Holmes Rd
HOUSTON, TX— June 6, 2018
In late May, Holmes Road was inaccessible to Eastbound and Westbound traffic as crews began closures on the SH 288 project that significantly impacted the area.
Known to motorists who follow the project online as “Segment 4,” the areas touching Holmes Road at Cannon, Bellfort, and Fannin, saw reduced traffic speeds and increased travel time.
LANE CLOSURE DETAILS
Nightly, from 5/21/18 at 9pm – 6/1/18 at 5am, 10am on weekends
All lanes of Holmes Rd, both Eastbound and Westbound, were closed at SH 288.
Detour for Westbound traffic: Take Holmes Rd. Westbound to Scott St. Turn left on Scott St. and continue to Bellfort Ave. Turn right onto Bellfort Ave. and continue to Fannin St. Turn left on Fannin St. and continue to Holmes Rd.
Detour for Eastbound traffic: Take Holmes Rd Eastbound to SH 288 Southbound Frontage Rd, U-turn at Bellfort Ave, to merge onto SH 288 Northbound Frontage Rd, then make a right onto Holmes Rd.
Multi-highway construction projects were occurring simultaneously in the Houston Metro area, so TxDOT and the Drive288 Project wanted to stress to travelers to #KnowBeforeYouGo.
