HOUSTON, TX—April 9, 2018—Beginning April 9th, 2018, work in the vicinity of SH 288 at Bellfort St will include the construction of new general purpose lanes and exit ramps. Work is expected to span over the next 6+ months, and the construction will include:

  1. Permanent closure and demolition of the existing SH 288 Southbound exit ramp to Bellfort St; and
  2. A newly constructed exit ramp to Bellfort St built with the installations of the new mainlanes.

Similarly, Almeda-Genoa Constructors (AGC) will reconstruct the northbound exit lanes to Bellfort St, however, construction for that portion will not be performed at this time. Traffic alerts will be distributed once a definitive schedule for the northbound work has been determined.

It remains a priority to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the SH 288 Express Toll Lanes developer, Blueridge Transportation Group, along with AGC, that the traveling public to be aware of significant construction that will detour anticipated routes. Collectively, we ask that you stay engaged with us and practice safe and careful driving on Texas all roadways and especially those within construction work zones.
